Kauai North Shore - Hanalei & PrincevilleIsland of Kauai
Nightlife & Entertainment
Even though the North Shore seems quiet and secluded, there’s still
some nightlife happening here. Most of it consists of cocktails and live
music. If you’re looking for a club or you want to do some late-night
partying, Starting off in Kilauea, there’s the Kaua`i Arts and Cultural
Center in the Kong Lung Center, In Princeville, there are a few places to go to. Happy Talk Lounge,
5380 Sushi Blues, 5-5190 Kuhio Highway, Ching Young Village,
Hanalei, Hanalei Gourmet is a fun place to have a beer and listen to local music. Normally, it’s a couple of guys playing guitars, but they sound good. They’ll play a mix of local favorites and classic tunes everyone knows. The only bad thing is that there’s no room to dance. The Landing Pad, by Princeville Airport, has Fiesta Latino on Thursday nights. If you’re 21 or over, you can stop by at 8 for a salsa lesson for $10 and put what you’ve learned to work from 9-1:30. In the meantime, enjoy the mojitos. There’s live Latin percussion most Thursdays. The Hanalei Family Community Center hosts traditional slack key guitar
and `ukulele concerts on Fridays at 4 pm and Sundays
at 3 pm. Look for the sign announcing the concerts on the left just past
Ching Young Shopping Center. Admission is $10 per person. For more information,
contact, The only luau on the North Shore is the Paina O Hanalei Luau
at Princeville Hotel. It’s held poolside with great views of Hanalei
Bay on Monday and Thursday at 6 pm. $99 per person. Like everything else
at the Princeville Hotel, the food is excellent. The show is OK. If you
really want to experience a luau, your best bet is Smith’s Tropical
Paradise is Wailua.
